Methodology
-In depth descriptive records of the various regions that have attempted deregulation of the electrical industries
-Collection of data pertaining to various frameworks, structures and forms that deregulation has taken in the studied regions
-Offers a contextual view that deregulation has had on the regions
-correlational and descriptive methods of analysis of the variables given from selected regions
-contrast and compare the different processes of deregulation in selected regions
-compare expenditures on energy efficiency programs before and after deregulation
-Explore similarities and differences between various reform policies and market strategies of the selected regions
Limitations
-Difficulties in drawing definite conclusions in cause and effect between deregulation and energy efficiency programs
-The wide range of variables will imply difficulties in drawing definite conclusions on future cases of deregulation
-Selected regions may not be representative
of the general consensus towards deregulation
