Conclusion

In order to develop a biodiversity management plan, a management framework must be formulated for the site. In addition, an appropriate protected area status must be selected (defined by IUCN) which considers the physical, biological and social components (i.e. land-use) of the site. Priority species were identified and recommendations for the protection of species and habitats are stated. As well, information on implementation, monitoring, and review of the management plan has been outlined. Finally, the applicability and limitations of the management plan have been addressed.
Adaptive planning and management is the framework we have chosen to manage the site. We feel that this framework allows for managers to learn from and adapt to the dynamic habitats and species that will be managed on the site.
